Refillable Packaging
You have our commitment that if we don't have a sustainable packaging solution for a product, we won't launch it. We spend as much time on our sustainability efforts and packaging design as we do on our product, and we are focused on reducing waste and the use of single-use plastics in our industry.
We also don't believe you should buy packaging more than once because that is not a good deal for you or our planet. With that in mind, we designed our Earth-First packaging system to be endlessly reusable and refillable.
Reducing consumption reduces waste, so we created Compacts and Palettes that are infinitely customizable allowing you to make purposeful choices and individually buy only the products and shades you know you will use. Plus, what is better than having a palette designed by you and for you?

Sustainable Materials
We carefully selected our materials with consideration of their environmental impact which is why all of our packaging is made from PET and PP resin (easiest to recycle) with at least 50% post-consumer recycled content (reusing material that already exists in the waste stream). Surprise! Using post-consumer recycled materials can be more expensive and challenging because it's difficult to work with, and our packaging was the first time most of our suppliers had ever used our requested material composition.
We would not settle and challenged our partners to work with us to push boundaries. We are encouraged by our success thus far, and we are on a mission to hit 100% PCR for all of our packaging. We are working on it, and we will keep you posted on our progress here.

RePurpose:
Made from 50-100% PCR, PET or PP Resin
Our RePurpose packaging series is made with PET or PP, the most recyclable plastics currently available. Most cosmetic packaging is made with a mix of ABS and SAN which are plastics that cannot be recycled in most current recycling facilities.
Our materials are not as scratch-resistant as other materials so you may see some scuffing, but that's a small sacrifice for sustainability!

THE FACTS:
- All of our outer packaging and shipping materials are 100% PCR from FSC certified suppliers that practice responsible forest management.
- Dark plastic cannot be seen and detected by current infrared optical sorting during recycling, so we included a resin called Ampacet in our Lipstick parts that allows the infrared sensor to see the material.
- Our components are "mono-material" which means they are made with one single type of material. Packaging that is mono-material is much more easily recycled, and in fact many packages that use mixed materials are very difficult to recycle and end up in landfills.

How to dispose of your MOB packaging:
- Keep and refill your Compacts, Palettes, and Capsules!
- Recycle the outer packaging in your home bin or remove and recycle the label and home compost the package separately.
- Recycle shipping boxes and packing paper in your home bin.
- Separate the paper and aluminum pan on your MOB Minis. Recycle the paper packaging in your home bin, and while the aluminum pan is 100% recyclable, check with your local facility about how to best recycle them due to their small size.
- Refills are too small to be recycled at home because they are smaller than a yogurt cup, so drop your empty and cleaned MOB refills into a Pact recycling bin inside any Credo store in the US or Hudson’s Bay store in Canada. Find locations here or use our new Pact mail back recycling program if you don't have access to a Pact bin.

Sustainability in Progress
MOB started with a mission to do beauty better for our planet, and after 3 years in development we released a trial of our NewPurpose packaging series in July of 2022. We brought together partners across industries to design a fully compostable packaging system made with 100% PCR cardboard, bamboo, sugar cane, flax and corn + wheat starches. The packaging is refillable and turns into nutrient rich soil end of life. We are working on additional components for the NewPurpose series with a goal to launch a fully compostable packaging system in 2024.
When we couldn’t find a suitable recycling solution for beauty packaging we created one as founding members of Pact, a nonprofit organization that collects hard-to-recycle beauty products and prevents them from becoming trash. Pact is on a mission to address the massive environmental impact of cosmetics packaging and offer truthful information and education to help you make informed and sustainable choices. Pact launched on Earth Day, 2021, and in the first year we have collected over 50,000 lbs of hard to recycle beauty packaging diverting it from landfills and welcomed over 100 beauty brands and members into the collective.

MOB has teamed up with Credo and Hudson’s Bay Company to form Pact, a beauty industry collective on a mission to address the massive environmental impact of cosmetics and skin care packaging by providing a sustainable solution for hard-to-recycle packaging.
The beauty industry generates an estimated 120 billion cosmetic packages annually, most of which cannot be successfully recycled through your home recycling program typically because of the material composition or size. Pact provides a recycling program for those packages as well as truthful information and education to help you make informed, sustainable choices.

At MOB, clean, sustainable, cruelty-free, and vegan formulas are product requirements, and with our deep roots in research and development we are confident we can deliver on these values without any compromise to performance. We take a product-first approach and never settle for anything less than pro-performance makeup which means great pay-off, high pigment loads, smooth and easy to blend textures with no "fall out", and long wear (just some of our criteria!). Every formula and shade is meticulously tested and perfected before launch, and our products are named in numerical order once each is approved. Our Standards
We sustainably and ethically source our ingredients and leave out ingredients like silicones which don't bio-degrade and end up in our water supply harming biodiversity and our local ecosystems. We only use RSPO certified Palm Oil which verifies it was sourced from responsible areas. We only use ethically sourced Mica, and all of our suppliers provide a statement that no child labor has been used in sourcing or production. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny and PETA Certified Vegan and Cruelty-Free.
